1.5MM/2.0MM VET SELF COMPRESSING PANCARPAL ARTHRODESIS PLATE DCP HOLE

The Ø1.5 mm / 2.0 mm Vet Self-Compressing Pancarpal Arthrodesis Plate is a low-profile, anatomically contoured implant designed specifically for pancarpal arthrodesis procedures in small animals (cats, toy breeds, and small dogs). It features Dynamic Compression Plate (DCP) holes, which allow for axial compression at the fracture or fusion site when used with appropriate cortical screws.
The self-compressing geometry of the plate encourages interfragmentary compression across the carpal joint, enhancing the fusion process. Made from biocompatible stainless steel or titanium, this plate is compatible with 1.5 mm or 2.0 mm cortical screws, depending on the version selected.
The plate typically spans from the distal radius to the third metacarpal bone, effectively bridging the radiocarpal, intercarpal, and carpometacarpal joints, creating a rigid, permanent fusion of the carpus.
- Pancarpal Arthrodesis in Small Animals : Designed to fuse the entire carpal joint in dogs and cats with irreversible carpal joint disease or injury.
- Chronic Carpal Hyperextension Injuries : Provides permanent stabilization when ligamentous support is non-repairable.
- Carpal Instability from Trauma or Degenerative Disease : Used when carpal stabilization with soft tissue repair is insufficient or has failed.
- Post-Tumor Resection or Infection : Ensures rigid fixation following removal of infected or neoplastic bone/tissue around the carpus.
- Revision Surgery : Offers a stable alternative when previous arthrodesis attempts or implants have failed.
- Congenital or Neuromuscular Disorders : Used in animals with congenital carpal instability or deformity due to nerve or muscular conditions.
