Half Ring - Carbon Fibre

The Half Ring – Carbon Fibre is a semi-circular, lightweight frame component used in circular external fixator systems, primarily in orthopedic and trauma surgery for limb reconstruction. Made from high-strength carbon fiber composite, it offers exceptional rigidity while remaining radiolucent, allowing for clear X-ray and CT imaging without removal or interference. Half rings are typically joined to form 3/4 rings or full rings, and used in configurations tailored to the patient’s anatomical and clinical needs.
This component is integral in procedures involving distraction osteogenesis, fracture stabilization, angular correction, and limb lengthening.
Main Material:
Carbon Fiber Composite
Lightweight, extremely strong, and radiolucent
Finish:
Smooth, non-reflective surface
Fully autoclavable and designed for repeated clinical use
- Circular External Fixator Systems – Used as part of Ilizarov or hybrid ring fixator systems for complex limb reconstruction.
- Limb Lengthening & Deformity Correction – Provides stable support during gradual bone distraction and angular corrections.
- Fracture Management in Long Bones – Assists in the stabilization of segmental or comminuted fractures, especially in the tibia or femur.
- Bone Transport & Non-union Treatments – Essential for staged reconstruction and bone defect bridging procedures.
- Imaging-Based Follow-Up Procedures – Perfect for cases requiring regular radiological evaluation, without removing the frame.
- Ultra-Lightweight – Reduces frame bulk and enhances patient mobility and comfort.
- Radiolucent Structure – Allows unobstructed imaging, crucial for post-op evaluation.
- High Mechanical Strength – Maintains structural integrity under dynamic loads.
- Pre-Drilled for Fixation Wires – Standardized holes for wire and pin placement.
- Corrosion-Free – Ideal for long-term external fixation use.
- Modular Compatibility – Easily joins with other ring components and adjustable rods.
- Fatigue Resistant – Designed for extended procedures and weight-bearing applications.
