Limb Lengthing Fixator Large

Accordion Hover Style
+ Description

The Large Limb Lengthening Fixator is a robust external fixation system engineered for lengthening long bones such as the femur and tibia in adult patients. It is used in distraction osteogenesis, where new bone is gradually grown between two segments after a controlled osteotomy (bone cut). This fixator provides strong mechanical support, making it suitable for large segmental transport, limb length equalization, and complex deformity correction under significant biomechanical loads.

The system typically includes heavy-duty rails or rods, multi-axial clamps, and a precise distraction mechanism.

Material:
Main Structure / Rods / Rails:
Anodized Aluminum Alloy or Carbon Fiber (for strength with reduced weight)

Clamps, Screws & Distractor Units:
Surgical Stainless Steel (AISI 316L) or Titanium Alloy

Finish:
Biocompatible, corrosion-resistant, fully sterilizable via autoclave

+ Indications
  • Femoral and Tibial Lengthening in Adults: Corrects limb length discrepancies caused by congenital conditions, trauma, or infection.
  • Large Segmental Bone Defect Reconstruction: Performs bone transport after removal of infected or necrotic bone segments.
  • Post-Traumatic Limb Reconstruction: Stabilizes and restores form and function in limbs after high-impact trauma.
  • Deformity Correction: Corrects multi-planar deformities (valgus/varus, anterior/posterior bowing, rotation) using distraction and alignment controls.
  • Limb Salvage Procedures: A key tool in complex orthopedic and oncological cases to preserve limb length and function.
