Limb Lengthing Fixator Small

Accordion Hover Style
+ Description

The Small Limb Lengthening Fixator is a compact external fixator system specifically designed for distraction osteogenesis in short bones or pediatric patients. It enables controlled, gradual lengthening of bone segments through a minimally invasive approach, typically following a corticotomy (surgical bone cut). The device includes telescopic rods, sliding rails, or a distractor unit, mounted to Schanz pins or wires inserted into the bone.

It is especially suitable for the forearm, humerus, tibia, or metatarsal/metacarpal lengthening.

Material:
Main Structure: Anodized aluminum or carbon fiber (for lightweight and strength)
Clamps/Connectors: Stainless steel (AISI 304/316L) or titanium alloy
Distraction Mechanism: Hardened stainless steel screw thread or linear gear system
Pins: Surgical stainless steel or titanium (Ø2.0MM – Ø3.5MM, depending on application)

+ Indications
  • Limb Length Discrepancy Correction: Used to lengthen short limbs due to congenital conditions, trauma, or growth plate disturbances.
  • Pediatric Bone Lengthening: Ideal for children needing controlled bone elongation of the radius, ulna, humerus, or tibia.
  • Post-Traumatic Bone Defect Bridging: Helps close bone gaps after resection of dead bone or bone loss from infection.
  • Deformity Correction: Can perform angular, rotational, and segmental corrections in complex limb deformities.
  • Metatarsal or Metacarpal Lengthening: Used in orthopedic or reconstructive surgeries to lengthen hand or foot bones, especially in congenital hand/foot differences.
