Mesh Cage | Titanium

+ Description
A Mesh Cage is a cylindrical or rectangular titanium implant used primarily in anterior spinal column reconstruction. It is designed to replace vertebral bodies or intervertebral discs that have been removed due to trauma, tumor, infection, or degenerative conditions. The cage features a porous or mesh-like structure that allows for bone graft packing, promoting osseointegration and spinal fusion.
Mesh cages provide structural support to maintain vertebral height and alignment, and are commonly used in anterior, posterior, or lateral approaches to the spine.
+ Indications
- Vertebral Body Replacement (VBR) after corpectomy
- Spinal Tumor Resection requiring anterior column reconstruction
- Infectious Spine Disease (e.g., tuberculosis, osteomyelitis)
- Spinal Trauma involving burst fractures or unstable compression fractures
- Anterior or Posterior Fusion Procedures for deformity correction
- Need to restore spinal stability after removal of vertebral bodies
- Structural support required in load-bearing segments of the spine
- Facilitating fusion in multi-level spinal reconstructions
- Osteolytic or neoplastic destruction of vertebral body
- Kyphosis or other sagittal alignment correction post-corpectomy
+ Key Features
- Titanium Mesh Construction : Made from biocompatible titanium (typically Ti-6Al-4V) Offers excellent strength-to-weight ratio and corrosion resistance
- Porous Design for Bone Grafting : Allows complete packing with autograft or allograft material Encourages bone growth through and around the cage for fusion
- Customizable Height and Length : Can be trimmed intraoperatively to fit patient-specific anatomy Available in various diameters and lengths for cervical, thoracic, or lumbar use
- Radiolucent Markers : Embedded tantalum or titanium markers aid in precise placement and monitoring via X-ray or CT
- Load-Bearing Capability : Designed to bear compressive loads and restore spinal alignment after vertebral body resection
- Open Architecture : Promotes vascularization and bone in-growth Enhances fusion potential across vertebral segments
- ISO & CE Certified : Manufactured according to international standards for spinal implants
