Sacral Block | Titanium

Accordion Hover Style
+ Description

The Sacral Block is an implant used in lumbosacral fusion and sacropelvic fixation procedures. It serves as a rigid anchoring point at the sacrum, allowing secure connection of spinal rods or screws to the sacral region. Sacral blocks are often utilized in long-segment fusions, pelvic fixation, or reconstruction following sacral tumor resection or trauma.

Typically constructed from medical-grade titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V ELI), sacral blocks are available in multiple configurations to accommodate S1, S2, or iliac fixation, and can feature integrated locking screws, slots, or saddles for precise rod placement.

Accordion Hover Style with Bullets
+ Indications
  • Lumbosacral Fusion in degenerative spine disease
  • Sacropelvic Fixation in deformity correction (e.g., scoliosis, kyphosis)
  • Spinal Tumor Reconstruction involving sacral resection
  • Long-Construct Support in multilevel fusion from thoracic spine to sacrum
  • Trauma Cases requiring secure distal spinal fixation Need for stable anchorage at S1 or sacral ala
  • Inadequate bone quality in standard screw fixation zones Augmentation of iliac fixation in spinopelvic constructs
  • High mechanical demand zones (e.g., obese or osteoporotic patients) Revisions where sacral fixation must be enhanced or replaced
Accordion Hover Style with Bullets
+ Key Features
  • Rigid Sacropelvic Anchoring : Provides robust distal fixation in lumbosacral and pelvic fusion constructs. Enhances stability in high-stress transition zones
  • Anatomic Compatibility : Contoured design to match sacral surface anatomy Can be used bilaterally for symmetric stabilization
  • Rod Interface Slots or Channels : Accepts standard rod diameters (e.g., 5.5 mm, 6.0 mm) Allows for precise rod seating and locking
  • Secure Locking Mechanism : Integrated set screws or locking blocks ensure strong rod retention Prevents micro-motion at the sacral connection point
  • High-Strength Material : Made from titanium alloy for biocompatibility, strength, and radiologic compatibility
  • Low Profile Design : Minimizes tissue irritation and implant prominence Facilitates easier wound closure
  • Modular or System-Specific Options : Compatible with most spinal fixation systems or as part of a sacropelvic module
