Telescopic Rod
The Telescopic Rod is a modular, adjustable-length rod designed to enable controlled distraction or compression in external fixator constructs. It consists of inner and outer tubes, where the inner rod slides within the outer housing. This mechanism allows for precise length adjustment during or after surgery, without dismantling the fixator frame. The rod is commonly used in limb lengthening, bone transport, fracture management, and gradual deformity correction procedures. Adjustment can be done manually using a wrench or control knob, or mechanically with threaded mechanisms.
